Derro Miniature Set – Twisted Cunning Raiders of the Mad Deep Warrens

Price range: $4.00 through $20.00

Meet the Derro Miniature Set, a twisted band of cunning underdark raiders sculpted for ambushes, madness-soaked caverns, and unforgettable dungeon encounters. Designed by Yasashii Kyojin Studio, this resin miniature set features five distinct poses perfect for subterranean warbands, dark fantasy campaigns, and eerie tabletop storytelling.

Meet the Derro

Deep below the last honest torchlight, where tunnels twist through forgotten stone and laughter echoes from places no one should survive, the Derro wait. The Derro Miniature Set brings that unsettling underdark menace to life with a full collection of warped raiders, each sculpted with sharp personality, dangerous intent, and a delicious sense of chaos. These are not simple dungeon goblins or generic cave-dwellers. They feel like true deep-warren horrors: half-mad, fiercely cunning, and ready to turn every corridor into a trap.

This set is perfect for game masters who want their underdark encounters to feel stranger and more memorable. Derro are the kind of enemies that make players uneasy long before initiative begins. Their presence suggests stolen maps, vanished caravans, fungus farms stripped bare overnight, and distant cackling in tunnels too narrow for comfort. With five distinct poses, this set gives you a full subterranean cell rather than a row of repeated enemies. That means more believable ambushes, richer roleplay, and encounters that feel alive with hierarchy and intent.

Each pose adds something different to the group. You have a ranged threat with Crossbow, a vicious tunnel fighter with Shortspear, a unique character presence in Droki, a sinister arcane mastermind in Savant, and a dangerous specialist in Buppido. Together, they feel like a complete raiding party, cult cell, or hidden underdark cabal. That makes this miniature set wonderfully flexible for dungeon masters building cave patrols, elite strike teams, deranged inventors, fungal settlement defenders, or recurring villains who haunt the party across several sessions.

Collectors will love the cohesive yet varied silhouettes. The hair, robes, gear, and body language give the set a real sense of identity, while still allowing each pose to stand out on its own. Painters will have a fantastic time working through layered cloth, leathery gear, bone details, wild hair, warped skin tones, and eerie underdark palettes. Whether you paint them in pallid cave flesh, bruised greys, toxic purples, fungus-stained greens, or rusted warband colors, these miniatures are built to tell a dark story.

Designed with Yasashii Kyojin Studio

Designed by Yasashii Kyojin Studio, this Derro Miniature Set showcases the studio’s gift for expressive fantasy sculpting. Every pose feels purposeful. These miniatures are not merely standing in place; they are plotting, aiming, advancing, and threatening. That storytelling energy is what makes this set such a strong addition to the table. Players will not see five random enemies. They will see five dangerous personalities emerging from the dark.

The sculpts strike an excellent balance between detail and readability. At a glance, each figure has a strong silhouette and a clear battlefield role. Up close, there is plenty to reward hobbyists, from sharp facial structure and ragged garments to the eccentric gear and distinct styling that make derro feel so strange and memorable. Yasashii Kyojin Studio has captured that perfect mix of madness and intent that makes them so useful in dark fantasy campaigns.

Painters will especially enjoy the variety built into the set. Cloth folds invite subtle blending and weathering. Hair and beards can be pushed toward ashen, wild, or fungus-dyed tones. Weapons and gear can be painted as scavenged, corroded, or ritual-marked. Scenic basing also works beautifully here, with cavern stone, glowing mushrooms, shattered mine timbers, fungal sludge, and eerie crystals all suiting the models perfectly.

From the Crafty Llama Tables

The miners said the voices started three nights before the disappearances. At first it was only faint chuckling from the lower shaft, the kind of noise tired men blamed on bad air and too many hours underground. Then tools began vanishing. Rope was cut in the dark. A lantern was found hanging upside down over a bloodstained cart, still burning.

By the time the party descended into the abandoned galleries, the silence felt worse than the laughter ever had. Broken support beams leaned over fungus-slick stone, and the walls were marked with strange chalk symbols that looked half like warnings and half like jokes no sane mind should understand.

The first bolt came from above.

A Crossbow derro had already taken position among the broken scaffolds. Before the fighter could react, a Shortspear raider burst from behind a collapsed ore cart with a grin too wide for the moment. Off to one side, a smaller figure darted between shadows and loose stone like he knew every escape route in the cavern. Droki. Then the lantern light caught the one in robes.

The Savant did not rush. He simply raised a hand, muttered something wet and ugly, and the mushrooms along the wall began to glow with sickly color. Beside him, Buppido stepped forward like the chosen knife of the whole ambush.

At the table, this set shines in scenes exactly like this. Use the Derro as a fungus-cave raiding party, a hidden cult beneath a mine, or the half-mad survivors of a deeper horror that has taught them new and terrible tricks.

Enhance Your TTRPG Adventures

The Derro Miniature Set is a fantastic addition to campaigns built around underdark travel, abandoned mines, fungal caverns, warped civilizations, subterranean raids, and madness-laced dungeon horror. These miniatures can represent classic derro, but they also work beautifully as cave cultists, corrupted deep dwarves, underground brigands, or homebrew tunnel-dwellers shaped by dark magic and isolation.

For dungeon masters, the role variety makes encounters easier to stage and more fun to run. Crossbow controls range, Shortspear pressures the front line, Droki adds sneaky unpredictability, Savant raises the threat with strange magic, and Buppido gives the group an elite edge. For collectors, the set creates a cohesive underdark faction with strong shelf presence. For painters, it offers a rich blend of cloth, skin, weapons, and eerie color storytelling.

However you bring them to the table, these Derro miniatures deliver twisted character, underdark menace, and unforgettable subterranean encounter potential.
