Swarm of Spiders Miniature – Sinister Crawling Nightmare of the Web-Choked Depths

Price range: $5.00 through $7.00

Meet the Swarm of Spiders, a sinister crawling mass of skittering arachnids and clustered eggs sculpted for cavern ambushes, web-filled ruins, and unforgettable tabletop horror. Designed by Yasashii Kyojin Studio, this resin miniature is perfect for dungeon crawls, underdark encounters, and collectors who love pure nightmare fuel on the table.

Meet the Swarm of Spiders

Some monsters roar. Some charge. Some crash through dungeon doors in a storm of claws and fury. A swarm of spiders is worse, because it does not need noise to terrify. It waits in silence, hidden among beams, cracks, and webs, until the party’s torchlight catches the wrong shape at the wrong time. Then the floor seems to move. The walls seem to crawl. And suddenly the dungeon itself feels alive in exactly the worst possible way.

The Swarm of Spiders Miniature captures that creeping dread perfectly. Sculpted as a clustered mass of skittering arachnids crawling over stone and eggs, this miniature turns one of fantasy’s most classic fears into an instant tabletop centerpiece. It is not just a token for a random encounter. It is a scene. A warning. A whole mood in resin. The moment it hits the battle map, players know they are somewhere old, foul, and thoroughly unsafe.

This miniature is ideal for dungeon masters who want their horror encounters to feel tactile and cinematic. A swarm of spiders can appear in countless settings without ever losing its impact. It belongs in abandoned crypts, forgotten wells, underdark caves, rotting forest shrines, cursed manor basements, ruined towers, sewer tunnels, and the corners of ancient tombs where no one has stepped for centuries. It can represent a natural hazard, a monstrous nest, the servants of a greater spider horror, or the first sign that a much larger broodmother lurks nearby.

What makes this sculpt especially strong is the inclusion of clustered eggs among the swarm. That detail adds instant story value. This is not merely a passing infestation. This is a nest. A breeding ground. A place where the problem is already larger than it first appears. That makes the miniature perfect for escalating encounters. Perhaps the party disturbs the eggs while exploring an old cavern. Perhaps the nest blocks the only safe route forward. Perhaps the swarm is just the beginning, and every round spent fighting it risks hatching something worse.

For collectors, this is a wonderfully unsettling display piece with strong shape and motion. For painters, it offers a rich opportunity to work with dark glossy bodies, mottled markings, pale egg sacs, venom accents, dusty webs, and atmospheric basing. It can be painted in natural black widow tones, pale cave spider hues, toxic greens, infernal reds, or frost-touched whites depending on the kind of horror you want to build into your setting.

Designed with Yasashii Kyojin Studio

Designed by Yasashii Kyojin Studio, this Swarm of Spiders miniature leans into texture, movement, and layered visual storytelling. Rather than a single oversized arachnid, the sculpt presents an unsettling mass of many spiders in motion, which is exactly what makes it so effective. The swarm feels active and invasive, as though it is spilling over the terrain rather than simply sitting on it. That gives the miniature a dynamic quality that works beautifully on the tabletop.

The rocky base helps ground the piece while also making it versatile. It can easily pass for cave stone, ruined dungeon masonry, a forest boulder, or the broken remains of an underground passage. The eggs provide a natural focal point and make the whole model feel more dangerous, more narrative, and more alive. Yasashii Kyojin Studio has created a miniature that feels like an encounter hook all on its own.

Painters will enjoy the chance to create strong contrast across the spider bodies and eggs. Gloss varnish on the spiders can give them a wet, living look, while matte treatment on the rock and webs can create fantastic visual separation. Small pops of color around venom sacs, eye clusters, or magical infestation can push the horror even further. This is the kind of model that rewards both fast table-ready painting and careful display work.

From the Crafty Llama Tables

The old mine had been abandoned for years, but the villagers still swore they heard tapping from below the hill after dark. Not pickaxes. Not boots. Something lighter. Faster. Like dozens of tiny legs clicking across stone.

When the party finally broke through the collapsed shaft, they found the answer almost immediately. The tunnel walls were thick with old webbing, layered so densely it looked like pale cloth stretched over the rock. A cracked lantern lay on the ground near the entrance, half wrapped in silk. The ranger crouched beside it and noticed several smooth round shapes tucked between the stones.

Eggs.

The wizard had just enough time to whisper, “Do not touch those,” before the floor shifted.

At first, it looked like dirt sliding off the rocks. Then the dirt sprouted legs. Spiders poured over the eggs, over the walls, over the broken beam above the party’s heads. Some dropped from webs onto shoulders and shields, while others skittered across the ground in a black tide of clicking limbs. The cleric stumbled backward into the tunnel wall and nearly screamed when a hand-sized spider emerged from a crack inches from her face. Somewhere deeper in the mine, something larger stirred, as though the swarm had not come to defend the nest. It had come to warn it.

At the table, this miniature shines in exactly that kind of scene. Use it as a creeping hazard in a forgotten tunnel, a nest guarding the entrance to a broodmother’s lair, or the first terrible sign that the dungeon ahead belongs to spiders now.

Enhance Your TTRPG Adventures

The Swarm of Spiders miniature is a fantastic addition to campaigns built around dungeon horror, underdark expeditions, rotting manors, forgotten shrines, mine crawls, and survival-focused dark fantasy. For dungeon masters, this miniature offers excellent flexibility and atmosphere. It can appear in one-shots, recurring horror arcs, wilderness cave encounters, or larger storylines involving spiders, webs, and brood-filled tunnels. For collectors, it adds a genuinely creepy and visually distinct monster piece to the shelf. For painters, it offers a satisfying mix of organic forms, eggs, rock textures, and web-themed basing opportunities.
